Sleep stories aren't just a women's product — but you wouldn't know it from most apps. The marketing is usually soft pastels, whispered affirmations, and imagery that makes plenty of men click away before they even try it. Otherworld Tales takes a different approach. Our stories are drawn from mythology, history, and fantasy — the kind of narratives that men have always been drawn to — and adapted for a pace and tone that leads to sleep.
The stories cover Greek mythology, Norse sagas, Celtic legends, ancient history, and epic fantasy. They're narrated by a male narrator at a calm, unhurried pace — not whispery, not infantilising. Think of it as listening to a well-told story around a campfire, except the campfire is optional ambient audio and your "campsite" is your bed.
The ambient sound system is where this gets interesting. Layer campfire crackling, rain, or thunder beneath the narration and the experience becomes something genuinely immersive — closer to a cinematic soundscape than a bedtime app. Every sound has its own volume control, so you mix the atmosphere you want.
